The Intex Sand Filter Pump offers many advantages over cartridge filter and Diatomaceous Earth (DE) above ground pool pumps. A sand filter pump is the most efficient and lowest maintenance filter pump option for your above ground swimming pool. The sand filtration media lasts 5 years on average and this saves you money since you will not need to buy replacement filter cartridges every summer. Plus, sand filter pumps tend to last 2-3 times longer than traditional filter cartridge pumps for above ground pools.

6-function control enables you to easily maintain this filter pump system with settings for normal filtering, backwash, rinse, recirculate, drain and close system.

This low maintenance sand filter is very easy to operate and maintain. Simply set the daily timer for automatic hassle-free management. The timer has daily cycle settings of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12 hours. The size of your pool will determine the sand filter pump's daily cleaning period. Refer to the sand filter pump's operating manual for your pool's daily cleaning cycle requirements.

The Intex above ground pool sand filter pump includes a strainer basket that automatically collects most of your pool's larger floating debris. This will prolong the life of the pump's sand media and the sand filter pump itself.

This Intex sand filter pump is best suited for above ground pools 18' and larger in diameter with a water capacity up to 21,200 gallons (80,250 L), however it will work with smaller Intex above ground pools with the addition of hose adapters that will couple the pump's 1.5" diameter hose fittings to a smaller pool's 1.25" diameter valves.

Intex has sold more above ground pools than any other brand. They offer a broad range of above ground pools to go with just about any back yard and any budget. The four major styles of pools that Intex sells are Easy Set Pools, Round Metal Frame Pools, Oval Frame Pools, and Rectangular Frame Pools. All models are made with triple-ply sidewalls. These make the pools sturdy, correctly shaped, and resistant to being punctured.

Easy Set pools are the simplest and least expensive models. They range in diameter from 8 to 18 feet. They set up quickly on level ground. Once you have the pool laid out on flat ground and inflate the top ring, all you do is fill it with water. The sides automatically rise with the water level. Easy Set pools come with a pump and filter system and basic cleaning tools.

Round Metal Frame pools are the next step beyond the Easy Set pools, but they are easy to set up too. They are constructed out of high grade, powder coated steel for strength and rust resistance. No tools are required for setup because the beams and joints pin or snap together. These, too come with a filter and pump system.

Oval frame pools from Intex are a hybrid of the Easy Set and the Round Metal Frame pools. They have an inflatable top ring, and they have powder coated steel frames for extra strength. These come in sizes ranging from 12 x 20 feet to 12 x 32 feet, so these allow for much more room to play in the pool.

Rectangular Framed Pools are big enough for lap swimming and are rectangular, like many in-ground pools are. This new style of pool frame is strong and easy to assemble, because the pieces fit together smoothly without the need for locking pins. This gives it a sleeker look than the traditional metal framed pools.
